Kids Wireless internet connection sharing?

Is it possible to allow 2 PC's to share a single internet connection without running cable between them? My brother-in-law has a PC connected to the net with a 56K modem; the computer is running Windows ME. His daughter has a computer running Win98SE. Both have NIC cards but it is impractical to run cable bteween them. Is there a (cheap) wireless solution?

He needs one wireless NIC and a wireless router. The PC with the connection will need an ethernet card to connect to the wireless router with a standard cable. I got mine, D-Link 802.11b, for about $40 total. I'm sharing a dial-up connection too.

AD HOC is your friend no need to play around with routers.

Send a message via Yahoo to paul9
http://www.shop.bt.com/icat/hninformation i know it may not be practical to order from them if you're in the us instead of uk, but if they will ship overseas, then they are a huge international company and trustworthy. but i thought the info was relevant to you anyway. look for home networking over phone lines, too, but i don't know if that would interfere with adsl.

I had the same question, Groundzero. If this can be done using the ME machine connected directly to the net and the 98SE machine connected via wireless it sounds like a winner...

802.11b cards are pretty cheap these days, if you watch carefully.
