Good Scanner for around $150???

Can anyone recommend a good fast color scanner for about $150?

Or perhaps a combo with printer and fax.

Thanx, dr

Hewlett Packard ScanJet 3500 C is a great scanner at a great price. I can't remember what I paid for it, but I think it was less than $100.

Stay away from UMAX and Visioneer. They have a tendancy to try to charge for a CD ($9.99) instead of letting you download drivers for newer OS.

This one is under a Hundred and works beautifully

Bought it for the wife ( it matches the whole silver/black thing she's got going on ). Othewise I would have bought the X75 which is going for about $60 at Walmart...just not as good quality.

The one I listed is nice and compact, although I don't know how long the ink cartridges last since we just got it, and they seem somewhat shallow...who knows though

You will need to supply your own A-B USB cable though, so figure an extra $15 bucks for that.

Also stay away from Canon. I have a Canon scanner and the drivers are just a pain to setup. Canon doesn't make an executable to setup the drivers, you have to manualy tell Windows which driver you want to use. That's not so hard but the driver is burried in tons of subfolders so It's a challenge finding it every time.

Thanks for the tip on the x5150. It looks pretty good for the money.
