Desktop Wallpaper Issue

Ok I have reinstalled Windows numerous times and then did a reformat.....however.....before I reformatted when i would go to change the picture for my wallpaper, it would disappear and instead I'd see that horrible blue background color??? But when I would right click and go to properties it would show up in there as being the wallpaper....it did this with every single picture I tried....once it happened I could not fix/reverse it.....

I am running a WINXP, ATI Radeon 9500 Pro, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo with incompatiable memory (kingston)

I had this problem too with one account in XP. I had to delete the account and recreate it to fix the problem.

right click, propertise, click desktop, customize desktop, unclick my current home page

When this happened to me there wasn't any web content on the desktop. I'm having a similar problem at work under Win2k. The wallpaper goes away when the screen saver is activiated. I can get it back by selecting a new wallpaper. Desktop web content is inactivated there too.
