Looking for a good LCD, need help

Hey guys,

I have finaly broken down and decided to upgrade my ancient 17" CRT with an LCD.

I am looking for 17"-19", prefebly with 250 or higher brightness, and a 400:1 or higher contrast ratio.

I would alos like it to have a 25 ms lower 20 ms response time.
Maybe with a Hyundai pannel or something that is good.

I do not play too many games, mainly Diablo II, and hopefully Max Pane II, Half Life 2 and Doom 3 in the future.
I do however watch alot of videos.

Do any of you have any sugestions of brand name and model, and approximately how much it might cost me?

Thanks alot.

I have this one

found it from tomshardware.com, it's an excellent monitor. I love mine (16ms response time!)

This Benq is also very good and reasonably priced. also 16ms response time. It is very bright even in daylight.

The problem with 16 ms respons time is that in most cases its 16 ms MAX response time, and those panels don't display full 16 mill colors but 250K or so at that response time.
From what I got from Tomshardware 20 ms is the way to go, especialy if the pannel is a Hyundai.

I guess it depends on what your budget is. I've tried out a few benq's and a few NEC's in general and can honestly say that it makes a big difference as to what company you have with an LCD. If you buy one that's $350, in comparison to something that's $500, in general (there are obviosuly exceptions) you get what you pay for.
I think it's like that with most electronics. Best of luck, if you can trey a few things out.

I bought my 19" NEC LCD from them and couldn't be happier. They sell refurbs but very good ones. Their customer support is great as well.
