Misc good printer company (and printer) to get?

What's a good printer company to get from these days? I'm looking for a inkjet color printer that's priced under $200. Thanks.

EDIT: links would be great too!

If you just print in black and white, I strongly recommend HP laser printers.

If you want an ink printer, get an Epson! My C82 is fast, the quality is absolutely perfect and I love how it has 4 separate ink cartriges - black, red, yellow, blue. The drivers support colating, reverse order, double sided printing, and weird stuff like mirroring, rotating and watermarking (pretty useless). The photo quality prints are just amazing . I've also used my printer to print on transparencies; it worked out perfectly.

I've seen the C82 at Staples for $70 upfront cost meaning no mail in rebates or anything. $70 falls well under your $200 limit. I don't know if that $70 included ink or not...... Black ink costs about $30. Each of the 3 colors cost about $15. If you want a full set of ink it'll set you back around $75 (more than the damn printer!).

As you already know, ink is extremely expensive. If you just use black and white, get a laser. If you want the colors and photo quality print, get an Epson .

I've been using a Lexmark Z45 for more than a year now with good results. Ink IS expensive though.

I heard that HP is beginning to outsource its printers.

I just picked up an Epson C84 at Staples for a $100 with a $20 rebate. So far I like it. Fast, quiet, easy to install, and networked with ease.

My view of the Printer Companies:

Lexmark- are very cheap, but dont get fooled, the inks for the printers are very expensive, and it will cost you equally or more than a 'usual' printer a year because of this. Nice quality though when printing in black, color printing is mediocre
Epson- Normal price (sometimes cheap) printers, ink cost less than before now. They have nice quality both in color/black printing. Drivers are fair though.
Canon- Cheap printers and cheap ink. They have nice quality too both in color and black printing. An average printer, not a great thing but great for the mayority. Drivers are okay.
Hewlett-Packard- Best photo quality printing I have seen. Normal black printing. But they arent cheap (most of them) and ink is kind of expensive too. Nice features and great drivers

*Based on my opinions and its general speaking, (I based my opinion on the brand by experience and knowledge)*
