I know laptops are limited in their upgrade options, I was thinking about a Toshiba 2000 - 750MHz p3m. The toshiba 2010 has a 866MHz p3m in it. Does anyone know if that p3m chip can be replaced or does toshiba have a habit of soldering in their processors? (suppose I found a p3m 1.2Ghz on ebay or something)
Do you think toshiba sells just the motherboards for their laptops?
Get a Toshiba 2000, and stick the guts of a Toshiba r100 into it..same case, screen, battery and hd type...might work
i did some searches on the r100 and the 2000 toshiba and the r100 is definately not cheap, you can get the 2000 for around $700. don't really know about the soldering of the chips though, i'd just get an r100 instead of messing with the whole thing myself.
