Time for a new card?

right now i am running a gForce4 mx440 on my amd barton 2500 with asus a7n8x-x mobo 512 pc 2700. As of yet, i have not encountered a game that i could not run, nor have i had a game that i didnt want to play because it was too slow, bad framerates, etc, and ive played alot of games on it, battefeild, ut2k3(i can run at full options with no visible slowdown), splinter-cell, gta3 and vc, and none of these games have ran badly at all. However i know that these games are coming in the near future, maybe already out? (HL2, doom3, max payne 2) My question is, should i just go for it and upgrade my video card now, or wait a while, and if now, what card is my best option, you know my system, and unfortunately price is a factor (id like to spend not alot more than 300) any help or opinions would be greatly appreciated

I'm running the same video card with similar system specs (gForce4 mx440, barton 2800+, Gigabyte GA-7VAXP,512 pc2700 DDR) and have not encountered any problems with anything I've tried to run thus far, and am having similar thoughts on the matter. I've decided to wait until I find something it won't run because by then the price of a better card should be lower.

I'm too tired telling what cards good, but mostly prefer those radeon 9700 ati.
you might want to surf for the system requirements or wait for the game. expensive cards doesnt really give the best performance. a geforce 2 is still good for future games as well.

HL2 and DoomIII, the two most anticipated games, are not likely to be released anytime soon, so keep the GF4. it's still good.
