virus boot disk??

i think my windows Me pc has a virus, when it starts up i cant load any applications or anything, are there such things as boot disks that check and quarrintine viruses, or are there some other ways to save my system (without having to reformat my drives)

yes there is but it looks like its too late to do anything about it now unless you have acess to another system, to make the floppy

If you have access to another machine that has a good anti virus program on it..sometimes you can just take your hard drive out and put it in on the secondary IDE channel of the other system and scan it from there....of course the possibility exists that your system might infect the other one, lol.

Don't panic yet!

First I would try to run an anti-virus scan anyway you can. Either download one or plug into another computer.

It my be able to be quaranteened or removed. Then the site may have a repair program. Only the worst are fatal so let hope you don't have one of those...

ive got a worm!!!! its called w32.HLLW.Torvel.B@mm , can anyone help is there a emergency disk that i can boot from or anything that i can do please help me ..
