Centronics or USB

Just bought a new Epson printer. C-84. Read decent reviews on it.

Actually redeemed Amex points and the printer only cost me $1.61 out the door with a $20 rebate to follow.

Should I go USB or centronics with the hook-up?

USB = 1.0

And if I go out and get a PCI USB 2.0 card will the 1.0 inputs still work or do I have to disable something to get 2.0 to work?

Thanks,

Bill

you can hook it up eather way you want and it will work good.
usb will run many devives and use only one irq, if you plan on useing a lot of usb devices, I would recommend that you get a self powered usb hub, to take any power load off the motherboard.

USB is backwards compatible and 2.0 will work with 1.1, especialy with a PCI USB controller card.

As to which hook up to use, that depends. If the printer supports both I say use the USB, if Centronics than use that.
