AIM keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

It driving me crazy. Every few minutes it disconnects and then a few seconds later reconnects.

Have a network ..wireless linksys thru a linksys cable modem. Happens on any computer I am on.

Any suggestions?

What version of AIM? Try updating it.

It's probably not AIM. It's probably your network or your ISP. At least thats what I think.

first question: how old is your Handle?
second q: are all the computers that youve tried it on been on the same network?

Also AIM is known for kicking off and on again for like 4 seconds. its an annoyign thing but it happens for a while. my handle is almost 4 years old and it jsut about stopped doing that.

Goodness... I have no idea how old this nickname is. I have had it for over five years. I switched to Trillian Pro and it seems to not be happening on that machine. I have not tried the others.

I have three desktops and one laptop on a network. It was happening on all of them. It was also happening to my daughter, but she is in college 5,000 miles away and not on the same network.

well other than running another util to run AIM (such as GAIM http://gaim.sourceforge.net or DEADAIM www.deadaim.com) both programs let you run multiple handles and offer a bunch of features. but AOL still acts funny from time to time. usualy it kicks me off abotu once every 2 weeks. other than that im not to sure what to say
