You have so much "headroom" for performance in those specs, already, IMO you would just be sending it to a premature grave for no reason.

Wait till new processors hit 5 GHZ, then tweak it till it dies, so you can get a new one.

you have no real head room . you already have a top end cpu . there is really nowhere to go with it .

If you want to overclock you will need good cooling.

I think what DallasDon meant by Headroom is that for the apps avaialbale today the processor has more then enogh power with room to grow. So OCing it would be a complete waste of time since that speed would never be utilized. Plus pushing to 400 MHz would also be a waste, since you will never actually see any performance gains unless you are running apps that need to access the RAM at fast speeds.

Overclocking is rewarding no matter how fast your CPU is, especially with gaming.

the point is when you want to overclcok you don't get the highest rated cpu . the xp3000 is running at 2.1ghz if am correct . xp cpus top out at about 2.3 to 2.4 if your lucky on air cooling . you are already at the top so overclocking won't show much performance gains other than in benchmarks .

so i don't really agree with what Darthgary is saying . sometimes it is pointless and i am afriad that this setup might be one of them times .
