What drivers?

I have a radeon 9600 pro HIS Excalibur.

I heard somewhere that I should not take some type of drivers and choose something else. It was something about powered by ati and something.

But shouldn't the new Catalyst 3.8 work with all ati related cards even for dual display support? My main objective is to get tv-out fuctioning.

Ok I have catalyst 3.8 and the newest hydravision from ati homepage. I just don't get the send aplication to monitor 1,2 option. I have to monitor 1 there but of course I would like to send it to the tv (monitor 2) This used to work just fine with my old nvidia card. But I'll try tomorrow if I but a VCR in between that might do the trick...

I also read the article had some good info in there but nothing I could really use to solve my problem.
