How can i connect them together?

Hello,

I have a XP Home edition and a Laptop 98. I want to create a network between them 2, and i have read that the netwok can work through your houses regular phone jacks. But i am not sure how, if somebody could explain i would greatly appreciate it.

Carlos

How far apart do the 2 PC's sit from each other? It would be easiest to purchase a crossover cable and a couple of network cards.

they are right next to eachother, but i want to use the house jacks because if i buy a crossover cable i can only use it here, and i dont want to pay the expences of a wireless network.

Thanks for your Suggestions

I've never tried this but Newegg has a Linksys USB Adaptor that allows you to use your powerlines to network with. $79.50

"Data rates up to 12Mbps*"
