Computer that has very annoying problem!

Hi

My computer sometimes brings up this message

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) unexpectantly terminated.

And then my comp shuts down 1:00 later

Please tell me how to cure it.

By the way i havent got a firewall could that be the problem?

Okay, lets start with the obvious -- have you downloaded all of the lastest patches through Windows Update? (I assume you are running Windows...)

Same goes for your other programs -- Virus Protections, Firewall, MS Office, etc.?

Sounds like the Blaster worm. The link below has removal instructions.

This is whats called the blaster worm
You will have to get an antivirus to remove it or you can remove it manually too. But I would recommend you to get an antivirus and a nice firewall since today its pretty hard to not get viruses and attacks when you are surfing the web.

I have solved the shut down problems

I will get my firewall installed now
