Kids PS2 vs X-BOX

I am going to buy one of these two, but I cant figure out which one too get? Which one do you guys find is better? The X-BOX has better specs, BUT its made by microsoft, which to me seems like a recipe for disaster.

PS2 has a lot of games compare to X-Box. There are thousands of cool games. Nearly all games are cool, best at the touch of Japanese developments, not to mention
X-Box is a very powerful machine than PS2. Of course, you have a pentium III in your machine It generates more pixel, much even faster and lots of goodies, includes better DVD player with a remote control which comes seperately.

It is better to make your own choice for the good of your satisfaction

I havent played either enough to be a good judge, if i bought a x-box it would likely just be solely to play the halo 2 when it comes out. Other than that I'm not sure?

PS2 for sure! Extremely large userbase means better support which in turn means better games. Some of the games for the system are incredible and the graphical clarity it loses to the X-Box is miniscule. The control pad is the most ergonomic and comfortable one on the market.

Online gaming for the system is also coming into full swing. Any of the new sports games is online compatible and many of the other genres have mulitplayer online capability as well.

The only quam I have with Sony is that their system crapped out on me after I had it about 2 1/2 years. I bought it on launch day, played the heck out of it, and then it died. Planned obsolescence I guess . Any newer model should work fine however. Anyway, got another one and have been enjoying the games ever since!

Difficult decision. PS2 has way more games for it. And the PS3 will play your PS2 games so you dont really lose money on it. I prefer the xbox controller, the PS one is a dinky POS. Really, it comes down to personal preference. IMO, X Box is better. Then Gamecube(its best for parties. If you wanna play shooters get a computer!), then PS2.

The PS3 wont be out till like 2005? I dont know how it found itself in this convo...but I guess I could start savin now for that one, I'm sure its opening price will be near $1500 I guess, hehe. Ya, PS2 vs X-BOX, its a hard choice. Halo2 does look good though.
