Misc Building a Computer - Im new at this stuff ..

Hey, I am looking into building a computer for the sole purpose of internet and gaming. My current computer (2001 DELL) doesn't let me do the things I want. Well I have picked out these parts that I would like to use:

Video Card: Radeon 9600 pro ultimate
CPU + MB: Intel P4 2.8GHz Socket 478 512k @ 800 mhz, BIOSTAR P4 VTB (PT800 Chipset w/Serial ATA )
Memory: 1024MB PC3200 Dual Channel DDR Kit
Sound Card: Sound blaster Audigy platinum
Hard Drive: Serial ATA 160 GB
Case: http://www.xoxide.com/xostwsitopwi1.html
PS: 400 W Icute w/ blue LED fan

Now I really have no clue what I am doing. I picked out these parts because of what some people have told me, prices, and other various aspects. I know a bunch of people who will help me put the computer together but want your advice on what else I need / don't need. Also will these parts work together properly? Also here are some questions I have, mainly about the case.

The case has 9 fans but asks if you would want 4 more, is there any need for the extra 4?

What is a serial ata adapter for?

Thank you for reading,
Keith

9 fans is plenty

Personally, i'm an AMD guy and a Epox guy, they seem to be cheaper and perform just as good

Serial ATA is faster but more expensive than IDE, it's the future. I didn't see any type of CD/DVD. What brand will the RAM be? Looks like a sweet system. Unless you will be overclocking I dont think you will need 9 fans it will add noise.

it seems that money isnt that much of an object here as looking at ur specs... i would suggest maybe a better graphics card (ati 9700 pro?) or a better case, but it is fine as is. make sure u got as3/ceramique/as5 for the hsf (im guessin u are buying retail) aslo, make sure u got all the right cables and stuff for your hdd, cdroms (what the other guy posted), and all the necessities, because once u get all that stuff in... u dont wanna be mad at urself for forgetting the easy stuff

Honestly never heard of Atlas Precision RAM so I don't know anything about it. That being said I would suggest Crucial or Cosair for RAM
