Setting up a subnetwork

Merry Hump Day All...

I need to setuup a test server for a handfull of users to evaluate an ERP system. Once I have set up the server I want to be able to have users connect to it and run the ERP system. I do not want or domain controller to see this server.

Current set-up
Windows 2k server (DC):
-AD, DNS.

Test Machine will be Win 2k server. It will have a completely different IP range.

Is there a way to get users to connect to the test machine without manualy changing there IP Address?

Send a message via AIM to excuzzzeme Send a message via Yahoo to excuzzzeme
One option is to map the hard drive (of the system with the program) on your users machines. You can either push a script to them (from the server) or configure each one manually. Then when they boot-up/logon they will have a networked folder that resides elsewhere.

Add a device to do NAT, routing, or otherwise a proxy between the different subnets.

Thanks for the tips. We found another way. In TCP/IP advanced settings we were able to to ad a second IP address and Subnet and so on... It seems to work fine that way.

thanks...

yea, that should work fine too (I misunderstood because I thought you didn't want to change to manual IP address settings)
