control/alt/escape . . . your curser will change to a skull and crossbones. Click on the offending program with the skull & crossbones curser and it will end.

There are a few ways.

1) Easiest. ctl-alt-esc in KDE will bring up the skull. Click the program.

2) open a terminal
ps aux
look for the pid of the offending process
kill -9 pid

You can also r-click the K-Gear and go to Panel Menu>Add >Application Button>Applications>Monitoring>Xkill.
This will do the same thing as Ctrl-Alt-Esc but there will be a target-shaped icon in the Panel you click on to get the skull n crossbones curser.
