Systems vnetsup.vxd,vredir.vxd,msnp32.dll?

everything was installed back on my computer after a crash and i had road runner help me install the program they instructed me to remove the usb device manager and after that i was getting an error that said windows cannot find a device needed to run windows and the errors were vnetsup.vxd and vredir, vxd and when the computer starts it starts in safe mode only and it says unable to load dynamic link library msnp32.dll well i downloaded a program but it's not working and some one suggested i extract that file from the windows 98 cd but when i do it keeps asking me to insert the windows 98 cd and it's already in the cd rom, i have windows 98 i upgraded from 95 could it be that i have the upgrade windows 98 upgrade and i need the orginal 98 cd i know how to extract the file but my 98 upgrade cd doesn't work. was the removal of the usb device manager the fault? and if i were to reinstall the network how do i do that? what do i do.

your issue is going to revolve arround reinstalling the network, the files windows is looking for are installed when installing the network, msnp.dll is the network neighborhood library

when you get these error messages will it not give you the option to continue booting and finally put you into windows?

if not tap the f8 key during boot and try to evoke the start up menu look for safe mode with network support go to control panel select the network icon and try to reinstall the microsoft client for networks

I have ran across this many times..but not often enough to remember it exactly, lol.

It definitely is all about "client for microsoft networks"

So right click on "network neighborhood" clik "properties"

If you see "client for microsoft networks" in there....uninstall it..reboot, reinstall it. (if it prompts about ur network not being complete, just keep going)

That will probably fix part of the problem.

For the other two (I think) that keep popping up...run "regedit" and simply search, using f3 thru the registry for those entries..then delete them.

not to be too picky but you actually need to uninstall it and reinstall it and then reboot

edit after rereading johns post need to say something else sorry

you can resolve the vxd problem by removing the calls from the registry that is true however it is a dangerous are for the inexperienced as a mistake here could easily lead to reloading windows

the registry errors will be self correcting if you get it reinstalled properly

Easiest method
Go into add/remove programs
Go to windows programs (orwhatever its called)

Remove dialup networking
reboot
add dial up networking

Have a nice day
(should take care of it from problems I've seen)
