Heard of these monitors?
Has anyone used, heard of these monitors?
are they any good?
I am thinking about buying two of them for dual screens at home... some gaming on them as well. http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...&sku=A644-1802 |

What's with this guy? And from what I can recall, Apple monitors only work on Apple computers due to something called ADC.
No I haven't heard of Advue or whatever they are called. You gotta be carefull with LCD's because they have backlights and pixels that burn out. You gotta make sure that it isn't a fly-by-night company... and that they have a decent warranty. LCD's can potentially have problems, so it's usually better to go with a more reputable company.
And Omar, those are CANADIAN prices.
But he is right, if you are doing ANY FPS type of gaming the ghosting will kill you. Even some place were complaining that C&C was ghosting enough to bother them.

I second FreakyOCR, I am the Omega needs to read more, post less...
Dells are nice LCDs. Top quality, and they are decent for gaming. KDS is another good company. Normally, staying with the major brands will give you a better LCD/Monitor, but also a hight price tag. All in all, it's more of a matter of testing you luck with the "no-name" brand, or going for a reliable brand.

Unless you really need the space, I would recommend CRT over LCD anyday. LCD lacks speed (for games), color accuracy....

Nope, I havent heard about the brand that produce those LCD monitors but I would stay away from brands that are 'unknown', specially when LCD Monitors are involved. Most recommend CRT Monitors if gaming is involved and I agree with that. LCD Monitors (most of them) just werent made for gaming. But I must say they are so much nicer then CRT Monitors since they take no space, but my wallet seem to hate them

My dad has 2 19" Samsungs. DO NOT GET 19" if you don't want ghosting. 17" has evolved leaps and bounds over 19", and 15" has the best response rate currently AFAIK.
He loves his though.. LOTS of work space! Me? I have dual 19" CRT's. Unbeatable for color and refresh rate
