AGP TEXTURE ACCELERATION NOT AVAILABLE ****help****

HI GUYS.....HERE IS MY PROBLEM....

I HAVE A RADEON 9700 NON-PRO AND I AM TRYING TO RUN MAX PAYNE 2 ON IT.......I CONTACTED ATI REGARDING ENABLING THE AGP TEXTURE ACCELERATION AND THE GUY TOLD ME TO UPDATE MY MOTHERBOARD DRIVERS.......I WENT TO THE SIS WEBSITE AND DOWNLOADED THE LASTEST DRIVER AND I BELEIVE I INSTALLED IT CORRECTLY...........FOR SOME REASON I STILL CANT ENABLE THE AGP TEXTURE ACC. IN THE DXDIAG MENU..........


MY OLDER PC (WHICH HAS A GEFORCE TI4200) IS RUNNING THE GAME FINE....CANT FIGURE OUT WHY MY NEW CARD WONT RUN IT...I GET A MESSAGE SAYING IT REQUIRES A DIRECTX COMPATIBLE ADAPTER SO I GUESS ITS NOT EVEN READING THE CARD.....WHAT SHOULD I DO TO ENABLE THE AGP TEXT. ACCELERATION?????????? THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Make sure when you installed the motherboard drivers it included the AGP driver... Sometimes this may be a different download.

Also have you tried updating the ATI drivers too?

Check that you've set 'hardware acceleration' to full.

i have the acceleration slider to full..........
from what i understand......the agp drivers are all updated because it does not allow me to update and it says no drivers found that are more current than the ones you have installed in the update driver wizard...........do you think it is something inthe BIOS that has to be changed????i dont know how to flash or anything like that so i can tell this is gonna be a pain in my a$$...'
by the way...when i try to load mafia..i get a init.exe error message...do u think the agp acceleration not enabled is causing that too ?????????? -coons

it only looks on your computer and (if enabled) on the microsoft website for updated drivers for your AGP card, check your motherboard manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for it.
