I'm in need of a CMS...

Hello, all!

I'm in need of a content management system(CMS) for my site.

I'm using phpBB2 for the forums, and I've got everything just the way I want it, with some stock mods, hacks, and some custom mods designed by myself.

I have the forums in the webserver dir /forum/ and right now I have the root index page, just redirecting to the forums.

I have been trying to find a good CMS that:

A) Is not postnuke, or something like that. (Because of the changes I've made, it will not work with those solutions)

B) (PREFERRED) Located on a seperate DB

C) (OPTIONAL) Would interface with my phpBB2 forum. Things such as logging in from front page, and possibly a recent threads box.

I'm pretty familar with hardcore PHP editing, and fluent in HTML design, but have been turning up nothing when trying to find the solution to my needs.

Any help is appreciated!

You might try one of these........... most you can hack to your hearts content adding whatever you want to your front page, and then linking to your forums.

most would use a seperate database........ although they wouldn't necc have too.

WOW, there are a bunch of different ones...

I bookmarked like 27 of them, so I will have to look at them all a little later.

I'm sure at least one of those will work for what I need...

iNeb: That miraserver thing looks really nice, but ATM I'm trying to find a free/GPL solution. Also, I think the news publishers are closer to what I really need. I think the front page's content will by static on the left and right sides, but then dynamic in the middle. And, I'll probably have news there in the middle. Similar to the postnuke setups. From my post I hope you didin't think that I didn't want the nuke-like setup. Actually, I do like it, it seems to keep everything organized and still looking nice. Anyway, I think all of these have some potential. Just need to look through them all...

OK, just wanted to update everyone on the progress that I've made...

I decided on using ezPortal 2.18 by Smartor. (the ironic thing is that his site is down ATM because of a PHP error! )

I chose it because it's VERY flexible, and integrates perfectly with phpBB 2.0.x, but does not add much bandwidth use, and/or file size to your site.

I'm still improving the site all the time, but I must say that it looks MUCH better than just a forum.
