MS Word 2000 file missing?

I just finished typing up a really long paper and went to try and spell check it to find that the file is missing. "Word cannot find the spelling file MSSpell3.dll or mssp232.dll for English (U.S.)" is the error message it gives me. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled and I get the same message. Also tried the fix solution but that didn't work either.

Anybody know how I can get these 2 files back where they belong? Thanks for the help.

Which 'fix' did you try?

Have you tried the following? :

Rename "msspell3.dll" to something else (like msspell3.old), and do the same for "Mssp3en.lex" (rename to Mssp3en.old).

Then, start up Word, and it should ask if you want to install the Spelling component. Pop in your CD, and it will re-install it.

Just tried that. Didn't ask me to put in the disk to install when I started Word up. Any idea how they could have gotten lost?

hrm.
put your CD in first, and then rename the files.

also, make sure those files are not found somewhere else on your computer. Do a search

I did a search on my system for these 2 files and I can only find MSSpell3.dll.

It's only a 80 KB file. If you want I can email it to you.
