I’d suggest doing a straight analog connection from your stereo to PC. Next, head on over to Radio Shack and grab a RCA-to-mini connector (aka male headphone jack to male stereo RCA). Plug the mini end into your PC, and the RCA into the outputs on your stereo. Fire up Sound Recorder, and hit play/record at the same time on the stereo/program, respectively. Same with stopping it. Then, to convert them to MP3’s, download the latest version of LAME and the RazorLAME front end, and you should be good to go.

Media Player do that? Basically, the hook up is correct and you need a LINE RIPPER.
