stero reciever to pc

I want to hook my reciever to the pc so i can transferr music from tapes to cd's.....or just to the pc... any suggestions.
And how can i link the 2 to be able to play radio stations via pc
from my stero?

I have a JVC Rx318 Complink stero.

call me a dumy, I'm new to this stuff....:))

Nah, I save that for when I screw up

You will need an adapter, a mini stereo plug to RCA left and right outs, like this one;

The mini plug needs to go into the 'out' of your soundcard. You would then use a set of RCA cables to go from the adapter to the stereo rec to a 'input', like the AUX in. You can actually use the VCR or Tape inputs just not the Phono inputs.

As far as the stereo to the PC, this can be done with the same adapter although you would run that to the input on the souncard with the RCA cable going to the Output of the stereo rec, that being the AUX again.
Depending on your brand and type of soundcard and stero rec what you want to do should be possible.
