Systems Winfast TV2000 Expert - no sound on record

OK I have searched this forum and the post with the same issues as mine doesn't solve my problem.

HI - Been reading this forum for a while and it looks good so I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have this card and have had sound recording issues since I installed it a week ago. Reception is fine etc but I can't get any sound when I record pay TV. I had the same problem with free to air when using the onboard sound card but I have fixed that by installing a crappy old creative 128 sound card and connecting the tuner card to the sound card so now when I record free to air TV I have sound on playback.

I have the free to air hooked up using the 3 RCA cables and they are all plugged in properly etc. I now have the sound running from the TV tuner card across to the sound card and into the CD in (on the sound card). All of my recording settings in windows are on and the CD in as the recording choice is selected. I have mucked around with plugging the sound into different parts of the sound card (I have 3 to choose from?) and none of them make the sound recording work for pay TV.

One weird thing that might be related is that when I first select CVBS (pay TV) as the source I have no sound at all but if I flick to winfast fm and then straight back to winfast pvr I instantly have sound but as soon as I record the sound is gone even while I record. I then have no sound on playback. But again this is only on pay TV not on my free to air.

I have the most up to date drivers off the website and have tried using WinDVR 3 and have the same sound recording issues but only on the pay TV using the RCA cables - the free to air works beautifully.

I'm at the stage now of buying a new sound card cause I can't think of anything else so if you can save me a couple of hundred dollars it would be much appreciated.

I have tried different RCA (or whatever the red white and yellow cable are called) and that doesn't make a difference. I have a feeling it is just something dumb I have done because obviously the TV Tuner card is working properly cause I have no problems with free to air. It's not the software cause I have the same problem with winDVR so I give up.

My system is a pentium 4, 2.8ghz with plenty of ram and hard drive space etc etc. I have the TV Tuner card in the last slot as far away as possible from the agp slot so I don't think it's an interference thing. I then have the next PCI slot empty, then my LAN card, then sound card, empty slot then AGP slot. I'm running windows xp professional service pack 1 with all of the most recent windows updates installed.

I think if I buy a new sound card it will be a waste of money so any ideas greatly appreciated.

Go Start/Program/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume control

Select Option/Properties/Recording. Select 'CD Audio' from <show the following volume control>. Enable the recording from 'CD Audio'

Activate the WInfast RVR.
