Internet Sharing

I want to set up a single computer on my home network as the "router" for my other computers to access the internet.

I have included a diagram to explain what I am trying to do.

Tell me how I need to set up each computer. I guess my biggest things is, what setting do I give each nic in the server? Do they have different default gateways. What is the default gateway for the workstations? I want to use dhcp from one of the routers (not the server) so which router do I use?

I guess ask me question too, because I don't know what all to tell at this point. I've been working on this for a few days now, and I haven't figured it all out yet.

PLEASE HELP!

Peter,

If you use ICS, you won't need to use any of the linksys routers.

This is how my network is setup, and as stated, you don't need the linksyses.

Dont even bother with ICS, I took a look at your diagram, and I would suggest that you goto www.amazon.com and look for a dlink 604 broadband router. It is easy as hell to set up, works great, lasts long time and drains to the bilge. The greatest part of the 604 is that it can be controlled with a web browser, is on all the time (so when you have to do the dreaded reboot, others wont lose connection.) The really, really good thing about it is the cost. it is 39.99 with a 10.00 rebate. Best bang for your buck. Been running mine for almost 5 months now with no troubles at all.

If you have trouble setting it up or have an issue you can icq me at 112234683
