My two comps are connected to a Linksys BEFSX41 router connected to a Linksys BEFCMU10 cable modem. They talk to the internet just fine, but ask me how to make them talk to each other is a complete mystery to me.

Internet > Efficient Networks DSL Modem > Linksys BEFSR41 Router > 3 Computers via the Linksys onboard 4-port switch.
