My room temp at 37c can i overclock my cpu?

CPU: P4 2.4c
M/B: Asus P4P800
Ram: 512 DDR 333x1, 128 DDR 333x1
VGA: Radeon 9600 Catalyst 3.8
PSU: 450w
OS: WindowsXP SP1

Can I overclock my P4 2.4c while my room temp at 37c?
I didn't want to end up burning my CPU.
I just bought a copper heatsink think it's quite good, the temp off load is somehow cooler than M/B temp.
By how much speed should I clock successfully and stable also won't shorten life of CPU too much.
What's a good temp for CPU after overclock?

your room temps are 98 degrees F? Uh, isn't that a bit hot to be living in?

I think he means F. Your CPU will do a 20% OC on stock HSF with most boards, you say you got a better one so I am guessing 2880 Mhz or higher.

Although your 333 mhz ram will be a bottleneck for your system, especially if you OC...

Get at least pc3200 (DDR 400) or higher RAM if you can

I agree, that RAM will either accept the higher FSB or it will not, try raising the FSB till the system becomes unstable, but before you do that make sure you know how to reset your CMOS. The CMOS is your friend.

And If you dont want to OC your RAM as well then you can always lock it in the BIOS for 333 Mhz frequency only.

No, it's not safe to oc anything at ambient temp of 37C. It's not even safe to live in that temp.

I would guess the humidity is, too, unbearable at that temp and moisture would condensate on your components.

Uh, 37F is something like 3C which is pretty cold. Normal ambient temperature is at something like 66F (19C).

So either way, 37C/F is bad.
