There should be a reset BIOS jumper - check the motherboard manual for where that is located.

Change the jumper with the power cable plugged in, but PC off. Leave it for 5-10 seconds, then switch back. Power on, and hopefully all will be well...

Had to take out the battery and move the Jumper caps from
{1-2} to {2-3} and then back to {1-2) and replace battery. Then go back into bios and renter the information correctly.

I got it going due to the helpful information from you guys. I thank you. I am up and running.

Thanks

I've always been under the impression that the cord needed to be out (or P/S switched off) to ensure no power is getting to the motherboard at all. With the COMPUTER off but not the POWER SUPPLY off, the 5 volt rail is still hot.

As with everyone else said, Clearing the CMOS should resolve your problem.

I think it is just a good rule of thumb to have the cord unplugged when working with the hardware of your machine.

power cable is unplugged but the small battery is still in correct?
Since SOME juice is required to actually do some work, otherwise moving jumpers really shouldn't have any effect.
