ICS problem - help needed!

I have spent the last 10 days pulling out my hair with this problem and wondered if anybody can help me ..please!!!

I am using usb zYXEL P630 USB MODEM to a PPPoE dsl account... this works fine on my desktop PC (WINXP).

I have just bought 2 laptops (both WinXP), and trying to connect to the main PC via Buffalo Airstation WBR-G54..either through Wifi or wire... the problem seemed that the client PC is not able to access the internet even though the network is working fine.

I also have an Actiontec ethernet/usb modem that I am thinking of using so that I can use the Airstation as a router/hub but none of these works except my simple USB dsl modem connection to my desktop PC. Now I have to say that I have dialup connection before which works using internet connection sharing ...and I had times that the networked PCs actually work but now I have lost all my patience (and hair!!) trying to figure this out.

check if your windows Firewall is on, or if you have a 3rd party firewall, try disabling it.

So the network is functional (sharing works, ping works, etc.), and the ICS works when you're using the dialup connection, but not DSL?

Right click on your ICS icon in your system tray (or locate your ICS options) and ensure that the NIC to the DSL modem is selected as the connection to share.

sharing works but only from client to server... the host desktop pc is unable to share files from the two laptops....even though both showed up in the workgroup list.

Is this the real problem? ie host not accepting response from clients??

Do you have 2 nic's in the main pc?
