Reinstall Win2k

I had to reinstall Win2k over my previous installation. Repairing Win2k did not work so I had to do a reinstall (with no reformat).
My old files and applications are still intact.
When I try to run one of my old apps i.e. MS Word, I receive a message stating "This application must be installed to run..."
Do I need to reinstall all of my old applications even though I can still see them in Explorer?

Simple answer, in most cases...yes. Reinstalling an OS overtop of an OS can cause registry problems, ie...your programs won't work.
