Kids Mandrake 9.2 Discovery

I understand that this version will include basic desktop software with an ultra-simplified configuration and installation. Has anyone here fooled with this "Discovery" release?

FIRST LOOK: Mandrake Linux 9.2 Discovery Edition It's pretty new so I doubt it.

Haven't tried it, but it sounds good for CLI-challenged people. Probably be really good for those who want to ditch MS and still point and click.

makes the existing Mandrake installer even simpler by removing package selection.
Does this mean in the standard install? Or have they gotten rid of the expert install mode? or just made it so you can't specify what you want?
Otherwise it looks like a positive move. Good on them.

HEY! I resemble that remark!

Thanks for the link, Xeroid.

UPDATE:

OK, folks, I've ordered it and PAID for it (!).

$10+ shipping fee

Apparently, the Discovery version will not have adware that will be found in the downloadable version. But any experienced tux person will be able to deal with THAT I suspect.

No, it doesn't have adware. There are a couple of ads during the installation which do not interfere with the process and a few bookmarks in Konqueror that are easily deleted.

The "adware" has been blown way out of proportion.

Hmmm .........

Might be time for me to switch to SuSE. (after 5 years on Drake).

It's just getting too dumbed down for my tastes.
