Systems windows media player

Hi, I am having a little problem with windows media player. When I burn a CD unto my computer when I am under my user name, I am the only user on the computer that can listen to the songs that I've copied to the computer. When the other users try to listen to the songs, a message pops up saying that there's an error. What I would like is when anyone burns a CD unto the computer, I would like for the songs to be shared with everyone. I would like for everyone to be able to access the songs. Can you please help me and tell me how I can do this. Thank you !

Welcome to TechIMO!

Could you post the exact error message you are getting? That will help narrow down the problem

Greetings and Welcome to the Forum,
I believe you are saying that you are 'ripping' the cd tracks to your PC using Windows Media Player. They are probably being saved in "*.wma" format which has the ability to make them playable only on the PC on which they were created. I believe this process has been superceded but it sounds as if your files are still being processed in this manner either by your machine in the ripping process or by the other PCs when they try to play the file.
My suggestion would be to play with the Windows Media Player settings. Try unticking 'copy protect music' etc...
Your problem could also lie with the format of the WMA file - If it is saving as a VBR (variable bit-rate) type then the PCs trying to play it may have trouble.
Your final option if none of the above works is to download a dedicated ripping program and save in mp3 or mp3pro format. Any media player will be able to play mp3s.
Regards,
Elad.
