a7n8x video card warning light always on

Hi,
I've been having problems with my a7n8x. I'm not exactly sure how this happened, but for some reason, the computer will not boot at all. Its like there is no power going to the motherboard, though there clearly is.

I know that there are built in safty protections, in case there is too much power going to the mobo. But I don't think that is the issue.

Maybe this is a result of whatever happened - the warning light for the video card is always on (whenever there is power going to the mobo). It is supposed to only go on if the card is incompatible, but the card is definitely compatible, and anyway, it used to work.

Does this mean my motherboard is fried?

Thanks.

If you take out the vid card, does it boot (and give the warning messages about the vid card missing)?

What is the model/manufacturer of your vid card? Are you sure it is supported?

ATI AGP cards info

Even if you don't have an ATI card, look at the diagrams on the bottom of that page for correct installation and compatibility.

Double check the card. It may not be seated correctly. Try pulling the video card out and reseating it. It can take a bit of force in come instances to fully seat an AGP video card.

This could be why it worked for a while and then quit (if the card was not fully seated). If you check the card edge connector, you shouldn't see the copper conductors sticking up out of the AGP slot. They should be down in the AGP slot, not exposed. Sometimes the card doesn't go all the way into the slot or goes in crooked (with some of the copper side edge connectors half exposed on one end).
