i think it boots please help!!

hey i just baught a soyo kt400 mobo with 512 pc2700 ddr and a 2500+ barton xp processor, and i put it all togather and it turned on, but no video......the monitor didnt come on. it has a 8x agp universal pro slot 1.5v, and i have a daimond viper 770 4x and probably 3.3v, but im not sure, also when the video card is in when i turn on the computer it turns on but doesnt boot i dont think, when i take the card out itll make that beeping sound like it boots but i dont know if it does becuz i cant see anything...if any one has any info or can help thanx.

I had that problem when I got my Volcano 11+. It has a thermal probe that is suppost to go under the CPU. When I put it under there I had the same problem..... If u have a probe under there try taking it out. Also when you boot up does it atleast give you the one beep to say that it is booting up??

Do you have AGP turned on in the bios?

im not quit sure what the probe thing ur talking about is, on te bottom of the heatsink it had this putty type material and i think it wa sthe amds thermal solutin cuz it wasnt tape or nothing i think it was a thermal solution. i dont know if i have the thing in my bios cuz i cant see it.

First of I believe that the Soyso have a CPU fan failsafe which means if your CPU fan RPM are too low or not detected it will not boot.

Also the new boards provide only 1.5 V to the AGP slot,so your Vid card may need more voltage in order to work. I would try to get a PCI card and see if that is the problem
