How is the upgrade process for Mandrake? Please tell me it's like Windows XP. It just upgrades right ontop of it?

Mike, I've done several version upgrades with Mandrake and never had any problems. Much smoother than any MS upgrade I've done.

If you do decide to do a clean install, don't let the installer format your /home and you can keep all your personal files. You may have to tweak a few settings for the newer versions of apps, but it will go smooth.

I usually pick "Upgrade Packages" at install. that will do exactly as it says. You won't lose any data files you have saved.
