PC won't work correctly

I recently installed a new At power supply on my computer and I pulled of two wires that were in my mother board. I don't know where these wires go. When I boot up the computer the cd rom light and floppy light comes on, but the hard drive won't boot. The data cable is hooked and the power supply is hooked up. ANy help is appreciated. The computer is a older computer like 1993 it is 300mhz

There are cables that go to the motherboard. Make sure the black wires meet when you plug it in. Make sure you have a cable going to each drive in your system.

what do the wires look like?
does the board POST (power on self test)
when you turn the computer on you'll see a black screen-memory tests etc. some where you will have the option to press f1 or del or some key or several keys at the same time to enter setup...
the bios may not be detecting the hard drive you may need to adjust the setting s manually or the bios may have the option to auto detect the hard drive you may need to do that in order for the drive to be recognized make sure you save your changes...you didn't pull off any of the jumpers on the drive did you?

Thanks

The two wires weren't important fortunately. The data cable from the monitor was upside down. I turned it around and plugged it in then the screen worked. The data cables for the hdd were also switched, this is why the cd drives didn't open. I did have to go to the Bios and set the HDD to Auto Detect. Win 98 Loaded Great. The only thing that doesn't work is the turbo, power leds etc. I'm not to concerned about that.

Well turbo aint gonna work probably..and the power led should work if you hook them correctly...if they are on the motherboard backwards they wont work.

Does it matter where I put the wires on the wires on the mother board.
