Final Fantasy XI benchmark

Hey guys,

I dunno bout you, but I've been waiting quite some time for FF to come back to pc, and here it is finally.

They were even nice enough to make a benchmark, so ya can see if it'll run okay on yer puter.

My score was 2700 more or less, and that indicates according to them:

2500 to 2999: "Tough" PC
We assume that your computer can run FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows enjoyably with the default settings. If your video card exceeds the recommended system requirements, we recommend that you increase the resolution of FINAL FANTASY XI for Windows. FINAL FANTASY XI might run just as smoothly as in low resolution mode.

So, I guess I'm good to go.

Here's the link:

Scores list is at the bottom of that page.

I tried that benchmark the other day. That was cool!
I really want to see what the actual game is going to be like.

I ended up getting a 2800 score on HIGH RES. and something like 3750 on LOW RES.
But the low res benchmark looked terrible.

interesting find, the benchmark was worth just looking at. I got 4600 on high res, and i didn't bother with low res.

too bad the game has to be online only... do you have to pay monthly to be on it? [of course... silly rabbit]

Seriously??

I hafta pay to be able to play?? not just 1 time buy, but monthly fee??

Forget it, I ain't doin that, I will never pay monthly just to play a game.

Buying a game, okay, some games are worth buying, but monthly fees??
IMHO no game is worth that.

And what about single player?? Or isn't there any single player mode??

Well, i play EverQuest and I pay monthly to play...
But it's TOTALLY worth it.
I mean, there is CONSTANT online support, constant updating, fixes, etc...
Also, EverQuest is just really fun... It's been more than worth the monthly costs. (which isn't that much)

Final Fantasy XI better be damn good to have a monthly charge.

I now have an 9800 non-pro and my score went up to 3900.

That is with everything at default, cpu, memory and videocard.
