Bandwith Tests

Anyone know any websites that test bandwith other than http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ ?

Oh boy, another "my bandwidth is bigger than yours" thread!!

Speakeasy

Really, the best way to test is with large file download (~50-100 MB) and good old fashioned stop watch.

www.TestMySpeed.com

www.TestMy.net

CNET http://webservices.cnet.com/Bandwidth/

Or you could choose from the 211 or so testing locations/utils here: http://www.dslreports.com/stest?more=1

bandwidthplace 2.6 Mbps

speakeasy 2.6 Mbps

Mcfee 2.388 Mbps / (305.66 KBps)

2Wire 3110.0 Kpbs (average of 3 tests)

Looks like Comcast has upped the DL speed here to 3.0 Mbps.
Now i'll have to see if i'm going to be charged for it.
Comcast tech was here last week installing my basic TV service so I could keep the cost of my internet service at $42.50 per month (blackmail). Said the DL speed bump was a higher priced tier package.
I think the Comcast tech was confused.
