Halo/DirectX Input Issue (Mouse Lag)

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with DirecX/DirectInput enabled games (such as Halo and Half-Life) where there is a brief (but annoying) delay between mouse input and camera response. If I move the mouse, there is about a half-second delay before the camera moves.

In Half-Life, this could be fixed by changing the gl_d3dflip CVAR, but I do not know if this is possible in Halo or other games (such as GTA 3).

I am using a Logitech Cordless MouseMan Wheel mouse, latest drivers, Windows XP, Halo v1.02.

TIA

Quick update:

I have read that this might be caused by having a USB joystick enabled on the system.

I have removed my USB gamepad and the problem remains.

TIA

i had a problem where my mouse suddenly would not look at all. i found this solution and it worked . . .

go to config.txt and find your video card.

underneath it type:

DisableBuffering
break

for example:

0x0201 = "Geforce3 Ti200"
DisableBuffering
break

worked like magic for me.
