What operating system? What is the speed of the computers?

On some of my older Windows98se computers, the sound stutters at bootup..I dont think there is anything to be done about it if the computer is low speed...the one I have that stutters bad is a pentium2-233 I think.

Send a message via AIM to Darthgary
I reccomend a PCI sound card such as a Sound Blaster Live!, they have independent sound processors and require way less of the CPU then on board sound does.

What is your systems specs.

Soyo SY-P4S Dragonlite
Sis Display adapter
Verbatim DVD RW
Yamaha CDRW
IEEE 1394

Have you checked to see if there are updated drivers?

Run msconfig and do a process of elimination. I had the same problem and through trial and error, found the offending dll file. Took it out of the loading process, and the sound stutter went away. My system has been running stutter free for over a month now, and none of my apps seem to need the offending file. I have a P4c 2.4ghz running XP Pro. My video and sound cards are different from yours, but it might be the same problem. In my case, the offending file was: nvcpl associated with rundll32.exe. Good luck and happy hunting

Sorry to hear that vn0007. I know I was going up the wall trying to eliminate the sound stutter myself. There's a lot of good help available here, and I'm sure your problem will get resolved.
