fan controllers

How do you connect the fans to the thing when they're usually all in different locations and so far away? Do the fan controllers from nexus or enermax usually come with a extension or something? Thanks.

I usually just extend the cables by soldering an extra length between the fan and the existing connector.

That way I can also have a cleaner case by being able to re-route the cables to the right of the drive cage, or behind the mobo, or mobo tray...

Work

When the wires are directly under the mobo and touching it, they won't short the mobo out or make the mobo temp a little higher will they? That sounds like a good idea to put the wires under my mobo instead of the other side of the case.

How long are the connectors? The usual 4" molex connectors or even longer?

I always make sure that any connections are well insulated with heatshrink.
...and I've built and modded 5 or 6 systems this way and never had any problems.

One technique that I've used in the past when there was limited space to the sides of the mobo tray was to use my Dremel to cut a 3cm diameter hole in the bottom right corner of the tray, and route the wires thru there. .. It all depends on the layout of your case, and what tools and skills you have??

If you need any advice or ideas, reply to this thrad, or PM me

Do you think you can take some pics of what you did on your systems? I can kind of imagine it but i'm not sure if it's right. Thanks.
