WC Antifreeze %

Okay, must be quick.

Water cooled computer.

Using distilled water and Peak 50% Antifreeze/Coolant.

What percentage of water and Antifreeze?

I recall asking my dad about coolants and stuff when we were talking about water cooled computers. I asked him if he could get me a bottle of his coolant. He works for Chevrontexaco in the coolants part. He told me water is the best heat transfer and the coolant prevented rust and stuff that just water would cause. I'm pretty sure this is correct and this is what he said.

peak 50% just means that it is already mixed 50% coolent 50%water come fron the factory that way

and rand father is correct water is the best coolent antifreeze is just that. it lowers the freezing temp of the water so that it would not freeze in your northern winters .it also prevents scaling and rust in cooling systems caused from steal engines and copper radiators

so all you really need is just a cap or two full for a small system as a water cooled computer

watterwetter would be a better choice

be carefull some antifreezes are not ment for aluminum engines so they would not be good for aluminum blocks eather

Ack, you guys aren't very water-cooling inclinded.

Not meant to insult.

I am using Watter Wetter right now, and temps are fine, but Watter Wetter has been found to turn into a foam after long use, and after just 3 months of 24/7 running, that tubes are cloudy, and I noticed a white film in one water block. Bad signs.

I realize that pure distilled water is the best coolant, but I need somthing that will prevent 1) corrosion and 2)little green creatures!

Antifreeze kills alge, and if I use a little bit, it doesn't inhibit cooling power to much.

THe correct percentage I found from water-cooling people was about %15.
