Half-Life 2 Performance Card

I'm looking at getting a card later this year.
What card is out right now that will provide near flawless performance in HL2 with all the video settings maxed?

Thanks

well, with the advent of the radeon 9800xt, one could infer that it is better than the 9800pro 128MB, which was at one point the best card for HL2, but not at maxed out settings. It was getting about 60 FPS. I would assume the 9800xt could get 65 FPS on a good day.

If you want it to run "flawlessly" on maxed out, you'd better set the resolution at 800*600 and OC your CPU till it melts the heatsink.

suggestion:
wait till its closer to release. If you're wanting to buy bleeding edge, don't buy it now because it won't even be cutting edge by the time this thing is finally shipped.

Its delayed a little more every other week it seems

not trying to thread crap, but something to keep in mind.

They pushed it back to April?! Wow, I though it was coming out before christmas. Anyway, I'm not looking to be on the bleeding edge. I want to know what is good now so I can buy it cheaper later.

Thanks for the help though
