Printer Annoyance
Well, I have a slight annoyance with my printer.
It is an ML1210 from Samsung and I have WinXP Pro. The drivers are installed and in the drivers I have it printing to the USB virtual port.
What could be the problem? Well, when I turn on the printer to use it, or if I leave the printer on always: WinXP continues to detect 'new' hardware even though it is already installed.
AFAIK, I have all the proper USB updates, the latest drivers (which really don't help because Samsung discontinued the printer)- so I think there really should not be a problem. The computer keeps trying to add a new virtual USB port. If I let it add the new port, then my computer can not print correctly.
I mean as it is now, I just cancel the add, and then print whatever. I'd prefer it not to do a phantom add though... Any thoughts?
ps. I also have a hub too, and this problem occurs whether the printer is on the hub or not.
