Logitech Z-640 vs Z-560 HELP!

I'm having a hard time deciding if I should get the 5.1 budget set from Logitech (Z-640) at $65, or the Z-560 which offer 400w, but are 4.1 and cost $140. I live in a house with paper-thin walls, so that's one deciding factor probably against the Z-560's. I don't have a DVD drive yet, but plan on getting one soon, and I don't know how valuable a 5.1 set is to a 4.1. I do play games on my PC, and listen to music. But my main concern is sound quality.

Anyone have advice, based on my needs? The Z-560's are twice the price, so do you think their worth it? I can't afford the Z-680's, and the Klipsch GMX D-5.1's are out of the question.

But wait! Theirs more! A quick trip to www.klipsch.com turns up what I've seen in the past - refurbished Klipsch 4.1 400w speakers for $130! I've heard these in person, and their awesome. Should I get these? I feel that since I desire crisp, natural sound not overpowering bass, these would suit me more.

The Klipsch GMX suck!!!!!!!

Get the PM 4.1's.

I have a pair of 560's and I really like em, but all that boom in your house would bother some people.

I don't like them either. They hiss and if I "upgrade" to a computer that doesn't have the right outputs, that's $200+ dollars down the tube.

I'd definitely reccommend the Z-560's here. The refurb 4.1's are no lnger available sadly, but there's always Logitech to recommend. I greatly enjoy my PM4.1's, and would probably like them better than the 560's, but the 4.1's are no longer available. Oh well. Don't get the 640's, they can't even compare to the 560's detail and bass (what detail and bass there is is better than the 640's).

Don't get the GMX, it's only applicable use is for consoles, and even there it's horrible. Hissing in digital mode, a troublesome frisbee for a control pod, insufficient bass, and tinny mids.

Z560 is without a doubt a much better set of speakers. How much do you really care about music is going to be the determine factor. I know alot of people around here seem to be "audiophiles" but myself I just have a little 2.1 set (Logitech z-340s), which I might add are awesome for the price.

I got my 560's retail at Best Buy for $200 back before I had a credit card, I know I did not get the best deal but I dont regret it one bit, its clearly the best $200 I ever spent. The mids are crisp even at high volume and the Bass is thunderouse to the point that you have to turn the bass half way.
