reverting from xp back to win2000

My friend has tried to get xp off his system and sticking 2k back on. He reformatted the pc. Xferred files complete etc f disk. However it seems to not have the cd drivers. As when he inserts the cd in the rom it won't work

Any help.

With the NT versions of windows i.e. NT, 2000 and XP you do not have to Fdisk.

But to address your question: is the CD drive set as the first boot device in his BIOS? If it is he should then only have to have the 2k CD in the drive and restart the system and it should boot from the CD and load all that he needs to install 2k. If he cannot get this to work he may have to go to Bootdisk.com and download the 4 floppy disks for 2k, set the BIOS boot sequence to boot from floppy, insert the 4 floppies in order and then he will be at the point where it asks for the CD and setup will continue from there.
