I found it on google...but, I already bought my Dell board. So I think I'm going to wait a bit 'til after my b-day next month when I get some gifts and I might buy myself two 2.8ghz. I got that Dell board for a steal...$114.

I have another question. Do all of the newer Xeon's like the 2.4ghz and up have HT on them?

Yes, they do.. All the newer Xeons support HT...

I think once you get your system put together, you will be very pleased with its performance. I used to run a Dual MP2000+ on a Tyan S2466N-4M and this thing was fast under SMP applications. However, my Xeon Dual 2.4Ghz 533Mhz is much faster. Noticeably faster on the applications I use due to the HT, SSE2, and 533FSB..

Here is my system

Which Xeon 2.4Ghz or 2.8Ghz processors are you planning to use? There is a 400FSB and 533FSB. To utilize the 533FSB, your motherboard will have to be 604pin compatible... The 603s are for the 400FSB...

That's good. I've been wanting to try out one w/ HT. It will take me a few months to get it put together but, I will love it when it is complete. I finally found a specs page from Dell about the mobo. It is a socket 604 because on the page it says that it comes w/ the 533mhz FSB and I've seen people that have 400mhz FSB. I'm assuming that the socket 604 is backwards compatible with the 603. I'm planning on getting the 533mhz. I think that I will save up and but a couple of 3.06ghz. I dunno exactly what I will get except that it will be Xeon 2.4ghz or higher.

I've seen your sys before and have been eyeing it, too. It smokes I bet.

Yes, socket 604 boards are compatible with 603s. I wanted to get faster processors, but the price break seems to be right at the 2.4Ghz.

I bought my 2.4Ghz/533Mhz for $243 per processor. As you can see, you pay a lot extra for the 260Mhz difference... Don't forget to multiply the cost x2..

533Mhz Retail Boxed

2.0 = $218
2.4 = $243
2.66 = $294
2.8 = $351
3.06 = $484
