another phpbb2 problem

when i try to set the forum permissions to registered so that guests cannot post it says the permissions have been sucessfully changed but they dont change. if i go back to them they still say "Public" instead of "Registered". does anybody know how i can fix this?

Check with another browser and see if your page is just being cached. Perhaps they are being changed and you are still seeing the original.

Also check the common include files making sure that the correct permissions have been applied to them, to allow you to write to them. If your permissions aren't set to allow write access, you wont' be able to change them.

I don't have the include file particulars, but I think it was common.php and config.php (something like that)........ they must have write permissions enabled..... HTH's

i fixed it a while back, it was a bug in the style i was using but i was wondering, what is this register_globals thing?

right now it is set to On is it ok like that or should i change it to off?

This link will explain register_globals for you. It is now set to off as default on a new install of PHP mainly for security reasons.
